Growth with a narrow base
The Wall Street Journal also reported that Anthropic could be required to pay damages for harmful AI behavior exceeding its available insurance coverage.
Those figures make the revenue jump harder to read as a standalone signal. Growth is strong, but the reported customer concentration leaves a substantial share of sales dependent on two buyers. The potential liability adds another uncertainty that revenue alone cannot resolve.
What investors still need to see
I think the most important unanswered question is how durable that growth is: the available figures do not show whether Anthropic can broaden its customer base or how much the reported liability risk could cost.
The company has not yet commented to TechCrunch, which requested a response. Media reports say Anthropic is aiming to go public in November. If that timeline holds, investors will have to weigh rapid quarterly growth against concentrated sales and a potentially much larger exposure than its insurance can cover.
