More formats, different access
The rollout splits access between the new features: paid users get Dashboards, while Motion requires a Team or Enterprise plan. Docs, Slides and Design, by contrast, are now available across all plans.
Anthropic will fold Claude Design into the main app no later than December 14. It has also prepared a migration guide.
The adoption number has a caveat
Anthropic’s figure of more than 45 million documents points to use of its tools, but it does not show how many people return to them or whether they are relying on them for work. I think the more consequential test is whether the new formats become part of that usage, rather than simply expanding the menu.
The announcement also arrives alongside reports that Microsoft is reducing its use of Claude. That makes the company’s broadening of access notable, but the announcement does not say whether the new features are meant to address that shift. More formats may strengthen Claude’s appeal; the open question is whether they can turn document creation into sustained use.
