Sharing is part of the product
Google One subscribers get higher weekly limits, depending on their plan. Before a game can be published, it must pass Google’s community-guidelines review.
A different audience for game tools
Google and Unity also introduced Unity Spark, an AI tool for professional game development with access to the Unity Asset Store. Unity CEO Matt Bromberg said Spark is aimed at players and artists with creative ideas who lack the technical skills to turn them into games. Its closed beta is expected to launch during 2026.
The announcement follows similar AI game-making tools from Meta and Roblox. I think the contrast matters: Playground is free and aimed at casual creators, while Spark is positioned for professional development. The open question is how much control either tool gives its users over the finished game—and how far a prompt can take them before technical skills matter again.
