A range of quality and price
The four modes span a wide price gap: the most expensive costs 27.5 times as much as the cheapest. Ideogram does not say here what separates the modes in output quality or when a user should choose one over another.
Ideogram’s platform is one route to the model; its API is another. The company’s partners include Picsart, Runway, Pika and Leonardo AI, though the announcement does not say how those companies will use version 4.5.
The claim that needs testing
I think the useful question is not whether the model can edit a selected area, but how reliably it preserves everything outside it. The announcement gives no examples or measurements of that boundary, so “without changing the rest” remains a product claim rather than a demonstrated result.
Ideogram also says it will release a version with open weights soon. That could make the model available beyond the company’s own platform and API, but there is no release date in the announcement. For now, the practical offer is a 2K editing model with four price tiers; its value will depend on whether the untouched parts of an image stay untouched in real use.
