What respondents want
The survey describes an assistant expected to do more than answer questions: it should interact through voice and manage actions across devices and applications.
Qualcomm develops connectivity, computing and AI solutions used across industries. The report puts consumer interest in assistants alongside that broader work, but does not say what devices respondents had in mind or how they expect those assistants to behave.
Interest is not adoption
I think the striking gap is between wanting an assistant and trusting it with everyday tasks. The survey reports high interest, but gives no detail on what people would let an AI control, or whether they expect it to work across different devices and apps.
That missing detail matters: a voice interface can attract attention, but the harder test is whether it can reliably carry out tasks. The report makes the appetite visible; it leaves the product promise untested.
